Marvel has officially confirmed the fate of Wanda Maximoff and the trajectory of “WandaVision” almost three years following its debut. In the series, Wanda undergoes a tragic transformation from Avenger to a multiverse-threatening antagonist, culminating in her becoming the Scarlet Witch.
Haunted by the loss of Vision and her twin brother Pietro, Wanda descends into darkness, using her reality-altering abilities to create a twisted existence in the town of Westview, New Jersey. Her journey into villainy reaches its peak in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” where she fully embraces the corrupting influence of the Darkhold, resorting to extreme measures to maintain her fabricated reality with her sons, Billy and Tommy.
Although the film ends with ambiguity surrounding Wanda’s fate, as she seemingly perishes while destroying the Darkhold Castle, it leaves room for speculation about her potential return in future Marvel projects.
