Getting started
Who can broadcast on Teleadio?
Anyone with original content: talk shows, music and DJ sets, church services, podcasts, local news, sports talk, comedy, gaming and more. You need to own your content or have the rights to stream it.
How much does it cost?
Broadcasting on Teleadio is free. A Pro program with extra tools and earning options is coming; we’ll announce the details soon.
How do I apply?
Fill in the broadcaster application. We’ll email you when you’re approved, usually within a few days. Then sign in with the same email to open your Broadcaster Dashboard.
What do I need?
- Computer: OBS Studio (free) and a webcam or camera.
- Phone: your phone’s camera, in the browser or with the free Larix Broadcaster app.
- Internet: about 5 Mbps upload speed for each site you stream to.
I already stream on YouTube, Twitch, Kick or Facebook. Can I keep doing that?
Yes. Keep streaming where you do now. Tell us your channel link when you apply and Teleadio can show your stream to Teleadio viewers too.
Going live
Can I stream to several sites at once?
Yes, and it’s free. Your Broadcaster Dashboard has step-by-step setup for going live on YouTube, Twitch, Kick and Facebook at the same time, from OBS (with the free Multiple RTMP add-on) or from your phone with Larix Broadcaster.
What is a Teleadio Live showtime?
Teleadio Live is our own channel. Approved shows can get a regular showtime on it. At your showtime, a Start button opens on your dashboard 15 minutes early so you can get set up, and stays open 15 minutes after your show ends.
Why can't I go live on Teleadio Live whenever I want?
Teleadio Live is one channel shared by every Teleadio show, so it runs on a schedule. You can still stream to your other sites any time.
Should I use OBS or the webcam button?
On a computer, use OBS: it gives viewers the cleanest picture. Set Settings > Output > Keyframe Interval to 2. You can add your webcam in OBS as a “Video Capture Device”. On a phone, the Go live with your webcam button works well.
My picture looks fine to me but breaks up for viewers.
Your own preview shows your camera directly, not the stream viewers get. If you’re using the webcam button on a computer, switch to OBS with a keyframe interval of 2. Also check your upload speed and try 720p instead of 1080p.
What if Teleadio needs to go live during my showtime?
Teleadio may use or turn off the channel at any time, for example for breaking news or our own broadcasts. We’ll give you as much notice as we can.
Content and rules
What can't I stream?
No TV channels, movies, sports events or music you don’t have the rights to. No hate, harassment, violence, sexual content, or anything illegal. Teleadio may pause or remove a channel that breaks these rules.
Do I keep the rights to my show?
Yes. You own your content. By streaming on Teleadio you let us show it to Teleadio viewers, including on the website and in the Teleadio app.
Earning money
Can I make money broadcasting on Teleadio?
Yes. You can bring your own sponsors and take tips from your viewers. We’re also setting up ways for Teleadio broadcasters to earn more: a share of Teleadio’s ad money and paid shows. We’ll publish the details when they’re ready.
Do I have to pay taxes on what I earn?
Usually, yes. In the United States we’ll ask for a W-9 form before paying you, and you may receive a 1099 form. Check with a tax professional about your situation.
